Save Our Green Lanes campaign group was set up by local residents and business owners who are very concerned about Enfield Council’s proposals for segregated cycle lanes along Green Lanes, from Enfield Town to the A406 North Circular.
WE ARE NOT AGAINST CYCLE LANES – WE JUST DON’T THINK THAT THEY SHOULD BE BUILT ALONG THIS IMPORTANT ROUTE IN THE HEART OF OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY.
We are happy to see cycle lanes introduced – but not in a way that will close businesses, reduce bus accessibility and make it impossible for taxis, dial-a-ride or delivery vehicles to park
YES to cycle lanes
NO to putting them along the A105
CHANGE the cycle lane route NOW
The PROPOSED A105 cycle lane route passes along residential roads – London Road, Park Avenue, Village Road and Ridge Avenue, as well as through shopping parades in Winchmore Hill and Palmers Green.
Enfield Council say Cycle Enfield is “about more than cycle lanes”. Yet if you look at the designs you will see that it is ALL about cycle lanes – cyclists are being given priority over other road users, pedestrians, as well as people who own/rent properties along the proposed route.
Do you think this is fair?
What’s more, SOGL have found serious omissions and errors in the design drawings and in the consultation questionnaire – which is why we are calling for the consultation to be halted until there can be a full, independent review of the proposals.
Enfield Council say that Cycle Enfield cycle lanes are intended to benefit everyone.
Do you agree?
If, like us, you feel that Green Lanes should be for everyone and that the cycle lanes will damage rather than benefit our local community, please continue to express your concerns to the local council directly, via social media as the fight to save OUR Green Lanes has only just begun.
